Well as a matter of fact I haven't till about 12:00 today. Steph mentioned on thursday that we should go to Galveston for the day on saturday. This is where everyone has been telling me I should visit and plus I had never been to the ocean so I was all for it!!
So we woke up this morning packed our bags and coolers and headed to Galveston. Our drive was nice we drove through down town Houston and the view was beautiful.
But once we got to Galveston it was even more beautiful!!
Then we finally came to a stop at Stuart Beach and I took my first steps into the Gulf of Mexico.
While me and Steph were swimming all of a sudden something popped out of the water!
"What was that?!"
"Omg there are fish flying out of the water!"
Steph-"No way, No I don't do fish. If those things come closer I am out."
Ha I thought the flying fish were hilarious and was really wishing I would see one hit someone while in the water, but I didn't get to see anyone hit by a flying fish unfortunately.
So after swimming around a bit and laying out on the beach we decided to search for some friends. On our search this is what we saw:
Colorful umbrellas, chairs and people.
Some cracks
(While I was taking this picture Stephanie laughs, "Are you taking a picture of that?!" Me- "Ha ha yup!" "Ha ha sweet send it to me, I want to send it to my sister.")
And some nasty dead fish with guts hanging out. Mmmm Yummy!
(A bbq we passed looked like it was cooking something strange we figured it was the other parts of these fish.)
After no luck of finding any friends, once again, we decided to head to the shop. And guess what we found here?! Some fun friends called Skim Board and his brother named Boogie Board.
So me and Steph decided to try out our skills with our new friends. All I got was a few good runs, a big swollen knee and some salt water in my eyes, but man did we have fun doing it!!
Before heading back home we stopped to get some food at the Golden Corral and let me tell you, that place sure is Golden!! I had never ate their before but Stephanie had. It's a huge buffet with amazingly good food! I ate so much that I thought my stomach would literally burst. I even asked Stephanie if she thought you could die from eating to much, cause I thought I was going too!
I feel that every Old Country Buffet should be replaced by the Golden Corral and then Minnesota would become that much better.
So, my first ocean experience was great! I did get a swollen bruised knee and some new red skin, but at least I didn't get bitten by a shark!!
Willis!!! I REALLY miss you. and ps i love your blog. and the butt crack picture, you would! plus i agree with the golden coral comment. YUMMY. sounds like your loving life right now and i couldn't be more happy for you! miss you!
